This home is so much fun! It's a bunch of small buildings connected by glass bridges to create one house. Alric Galindez Arquitectos have designed this home in Argentina. Lots more at Contemporist.
From the designer: The house is located in the Patagonia región in Argentina in a site with a subtle slope and views towards the Gutierrez Lake and the Catedral, Ventana and Otto Hills. On the first approach, two interrogations arise: what is the relation between the project and the landscape and how does one live in a spacious home. We are looking for a building in which the human presence is manifested by the abstract geometry, which in juxtaposition with the surrounding landscape, enhances nature. This dichotomy, extends throughout the whole execution of the project.

This holiday home is just amazing, like living in a tree house. It was designed by architect Benjamin Garcia Saxe. It's so much fun, and definitely invites you to be a part of nature. Lots more photos at Contemporist.
From the architect: The Floating House, designed by award-winning Costa Rican architect Benjamin Garcia Saxe, offers a unique living experience floating above the canopy of the jungle. It combines expansive ocean views, luxury interiors and an infinity swimming pool, within walking distance of the beach.
This is such a unique house, and the cubes make for interesting interior spaces. This place overlooks the Mediterranean Sea in Spain. It was designed by architects Cadaval & Solà-Morales. I love how it looks like it was just plopped down in place, especially with the contrasting colours of the browns, with the black and white. Lots more photos at Contemporist.
About: The project breaks down the panoramic view into the addition of many different conditions; the diverse uses of the house are minced and articulated so that each of them (of small dimensions) is positioned frontally to the diverse landscape conditions previously enumerated.
Designer Walker Workshop has created a glass house, located in Beverly Hills. I really like how is disappears into the landscape. It would almost feel like you are living outside while inside. Plus I love that pool, and the secluded courtyard. See lots more at Contemporist.
Architect Description: The Oak Pass main house sits on the top of a 3.5 acre ridge site with panoramic canyon views. The house was sited to take advantage of the views without the house becoming a central visual focus.
Check out this remodel of a 1980s house in Israel. The architects, Shachar Rozenfeld Architects, have taken out a lot of the curving windows and brightened it up with bigger glass walls and sliding doors. This makes the new living/dinning area more open, with an easy transition to the outside patio. See more of the transformation at Contemporist.
This is a pretty neat idea to add in the empty space between floors. And what a fun way to relax! Just like a giant suspended hammock. This two-level apartment is located in Mexico and was designed by Proyecto Cafeina. See more at Contemporist.
As summer winds down, and fall begins, I thought I'd share this amazing city oasis. SVOYA Studio designed this outdoor retreat, which is located in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. I love the cosy atmosphere, even as the air gets cooler I can imagine sitting out here with a warm blanket and a hot drink. Bring it on autumn!

Check out this house remodel in Oakland, California. It was created by Baran Studio. Lots more photos here. I really like the new front and back decks that were added.
Project Description: The existing Spanish Style house had been modified ad-hoc (not to mention illegally) over the years with little attention to the net effect. As with many of the transformations we design, we took the existing conditions and capitalized on the best features of the house.
A department store in Amsterdam has created a vertical living area in the tower of their building. Very neat use of a small, but tall, space! It was created by i29 Architects. For more go to Contemporist.
About: The living space has been designed for an artist in residence project created by de Bijenkorf and theRijksmuseum named ‘Room On The Roof’, with artist Martin Baas starting the first residency on the 27th of January. The department store has invited artists, writers, musicians, architects and designers to take part in the program. Artist Maarten Baas will be first to use the studio. During the launch, the full program for 2015 will be unveiled together with the first screening of an introductory film by Artist and Creative Director, Christian Borstlap.
Check out these amazing houses in Muskoka in this article called "The Luxury Market of Muskoka". I say houses, because who are we kidding, these aren't cottages. They would be amazing to retreat to, or stay in full time. Heck, I could just live in some of these boat houses. See lots more photos and cottages here!
